HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Meet Samuel Johnson from the Lions Club of Pittsworth. Samuel is 19 years of age and our first ever male entrant in the Lions Medical Research Personality Quest!! It’s a truly momentous occasion and we are delighted to have him on board and fundraising with his Club on behalf of the Foundation.
Samuel was approached by the Lions Club of Pittsworth to be this year’s Medical Research representative, and when he was asked he felt very honoured and had no hesitation in saying yes!. Samuel’s father, Stephen, is a Lion himself, and through his father Samuel became aware of the amazing work that the Lions perform in assisting the community.
After accepting the offer to become an entrant, he was then asked if he would like to become a member of the club. With his own interest in aiding communities at the forefront of his mind, he readily agreed and is now himself a Lion. He has already completed a couple of fundraising activities and has many more planned. Samuel says he is looking forward to the experience that this invaluable organization is going to provide him with, and is comforted knowing that his fundraising efforts that support medical research will help so many people in the future.
As a personal goal, he is interested in working for a community organization helping in international aid, but right now he plans to work for a few more years gaining life and work experience with his ultimate goal of joining the Australian Defence Forces, specifically the Army.
